Interesting that someone is actually trying a strategy that I proposed a few years ago in my essay, Gerrymander to Gerrymaster.

Kate Barr, In North Carolina's deep red gerrymandered 14th, is a former Democrat running in the Republican Primary as a Progressive Republican.

Modern AI is a grift. There are a few interesting side-effects that may be useful long-term but none of those require giant server facilities.

All politicians lie but I think there's a very interesting difference between the Republican lie and the Democratic lie. In part, it explains why the Republicans lie more effectively than the Democrats.
Lying: Tactical Versus Strategic
Yes, the Republican lie is different.

Bees challenge evolution in ways that give one pause. No one bee will drive genetic innovation. It takes a whole hive to advance the species. That's true for humans too, under certain circumstances. I muse on the evolution of bees and maybe something interesting will arise.

Those who understand their gender to be flexible or different from their evident genitalia are to be respected and honored consistent w/ that deserved by any human being. My complaint respects the gender-fluid person but demands a respect for the English language. They/them breaks the language.

The wealthy do not work but they live far better than those who do work. It is as if money has become the equivalent of labor. The wealthy do not work, so they save face by engaging in ritual work -- pretending at the herculean effort that would justify their unbelievable income.

Yup, a lot of problems can all be solved with just one step. What is it? While there are lots of problems, most of them cannot be solved. Fortunately by solving just one problem, the other problems go away.

My family and I are celebrating Thanksgiving the way the original patriots did. We're going to find an indigenous family, kick them out of their home and live there. Then we'll be thankful for all the Indian stuff we took.

The wealthy do not labor but they live better than those who do labor. As a result, they have to perform ritual labor in order to give the appearance that they deserve the unearned luxuries that they hoard.

When will we see thru that façade elevate labor above wealth?

I respect the fact that any individual should be recognized as the gender that they claim to be. One's understanding of oneself is not to be questioned by outsiders. Nonetheless, the English language should also be respected. I suggest an approach.

Are we stuck with a system wherein billionaires own everything and everyone else has to survive on what's left? I think not. I think we can pull out of this disaster and build something beautiful.

Universal Basic Income (UBI) might be a solution but it isn't a solution for what you think. That's because poverty isn't a problem. It's a symptom of a deeper problem, a problem that is near and dear to the tech bros who advocate UBI.
UBI Is Not a Solution
It’s an excuse for no solution.
