Let's reform the Atlanta Way to use resources for an equitable city. Former 'tax break naysayer' on Invest Atlanta board & Gulch RedLighter, I campaign against wasteful revenue giveaways that favor billionaires at the rest's expense.
Well the make up of the proposed Norwood “Oversight” group certainly is rigged against anything of value to the 99% coming out of it.

But is a comparable home cheaper in Boulder than in Indianopolis?
It's not the price change that matters for cost of living, it's the price.

It's time folks made clear public comment to the school board. No extension of school funding of the big dollar TADs. (Beltline $100M/yr, Westside and Eastside $35M each, Perry Bolton $17M)
The money was promised to come back after 25 years. Stick to that promise. Fund the schools.

This is the ordinance. But nothing tells you they're poised to rubber-stamp it tomorrow. For that, you have to be talking to council members.

This is a glaring example of poor local news reporting. Mayor's office has been pressuring Council members for the last week. The ordinance that has been in committee since Oct 6 is expected to be voted on tomorrow - and will quite likely advance to a Council vote on Dec 1.

It is a different sort of group project. One where the leaders pick the pockets of the 500,000 member group, who have no clue what's happening to them.

Lots of reward from corporate interests for this behavior, through campaign contributions etc. That in turn ensures no political penalty.

who the fuck does Ezra Klein thinks actually writes the overly convoluted regulations he despises?

It's not progressives or anybody even tangentially related to good faith reform movements, it's unchecked corporate power, you insufferable brunchlord

When Atlanta gets a mayor who works for the 99% we could all share your enthusiasm, Darin!

Peter Hubbard is the expert and thought leader on these issues. While Alicia Johnson will doubtless speak up and vote on the PSC on behalf of long-neglected GA residents, Hubbard's longstanding campaigning for honest, smart electricity regulation is what helped get them elected.
