I highly recommend Hugo. It’s about a boy grieving his father by falling in love with silent film, and more broadly Scorsese paying tribute to early film icons and art as a healer. It’s underrated and not like anything he’s ever made, so if you haven’t vibed with his other films this is for you!

Oh yes, I’ll throw hands if the creature design/makeup team isn’t nominated! I hope Sinners and Frankenstein both make it, they deserve it. Easily my favorites this year.

It’s so good. I know genre often has a hard time at the Oscars but I hope given GDT’s history this film will get some nods. Jacob Elordi floored me.
