" This attitude is reminiscent of that of the “Angry White Men” ...: it is no longer limited to blaming a single group for real or imagined personal problems but blames all minority groups. That means there is no longer a single scapegoat, but a whole herd. "

The intersectionality of hate helps make sense of the ideology of Donald Trump and the far right
The intersectionality of hate, which combines racism, antisemitism and misogyny, leads the white heterosexual male to believe that he is a victim of the “minorities” he must resist.

So good and I knew toxic masculinity was at the heart of it.
Many of us are aghast at the unprecedented dismantlement of the US administrative state. All around me, people are trying to connect what’s happening to historical events. Here's my attempt to offer a few possible frames for sense-making right now:

His comments remind me of Scomo at the time of the catastrophic bush fires in Australia. Lack of empathy is astonishing.
The tragic air collision revealed Trump’s rancid, irredeemable character once again
Compare Trump’s comments with comments by Presidents Reagan, Clinton, Bush, and Obama in response to other tragedies.
Trump is a venal, narcissistic, mobster kingpin.

What an inspiration. Let’s hope more like her speak out. My mum who spent her life and PhD on supporting women in leadership positions in the church would approve. This despot and his rich cronies will ultimately crumble, society has moved on and will not tolerate this crap for long.
This is the face of courage and compassion. Thank you Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde for speaking truth to power on behalf of the marginalized.

Why has the US ABC news footage of fires in LA made not one single mention of climate change? When we had devastating bushfires ravage Australia a few years ago the links to climate change, warming temperatures were certainly mentioned on our ABC. Why ignore elephant in the room?
