The church preached that slavery was Gods will/plan and school taught that black people were inferior and that slavery was necessary to keep the status quo. And the teachers taught that these things are facts. This type of teaching, as we all know, is complete bullshit.

This chapter focused on the early United States and examines how figures like Thomas Jefferson contributed to the development and entrenchment of racist ideologies. By "proving" religious justification and the schools indoctrination, they teamed up to justify why slavery was a good thing.
