Musician, lover of dogs & soccer, proponent of democracy & bold action on climate change. Don’t blame me, I voted for the laughing lady.
administration that’s not just denying climate change but actually working to accelerate it. Maybe he’s been affected by the AI craze and wants to create permission structure for the massive environmentally taxing data centers, but it shows lack of judgment or emotional intelligence. /2

“Congrats” to Bill Gates for giving fodder to the climate change deniers with his perhaps well-meaning but damaging comments about climate change actually not being that big a deal after all (i.e. we’ll just adjust!). It was precisely the wrong time for these comments as we’re dealing with an /1

Props to Mark Kelly. He is candidly speaking truth to power and he's not letting the threats affect him.

in most cases the donations to the athletic department wouldn't have been made to the university in general, or they'd be highly reduced. We shouldn't underestimate how much pull the big athletics programs have for alumni. Many base their whole lives around it. Sad but true. /2

I'm not a fan as the "college sports as professional sports system" - it's obviously gotten way out of hand, but looking at that NCAA finances data, looks like the programs more or less pay for themselves within say 10-15% in most cases (just a quick ballpark). And I would actually assume that /1

Nice application of the "Hasty Generalization" logical fallacy. Perhaps Michael should have attended public school, or at least studied harder.

And whatever Trump idea apparently it’s OK because it’s “calculated”?

They’ve changed terminology from “shithole countries” to “third world countries”. The techno oligarchs will protect Indian and Chinese immigrants I’m sure (H1B’s).

Not sure but I think when the top line goes up and the bottom line goes down, it’s bad. May it continue. In a sane country the bottom line would be 0 and the top 100 and he would have never come within several galaxies of being president.

It’s too late. They’ve already set our democracy on a path to ruin and the court must be reformed if we are to get our democracy back.

Well NYT can act indignant and like the tough guys now but the truth is that NYT helped elect Trump twice by sanewashing him while giving bonkers coverage of “her emails” and “Biden old”. To that end they are partly to blame for the disparagement of their own reporter, which they now decry. 🤷‍♂️

#Trump allowed 17 members of the Sinaloa cartel into the US.

In May he commuted the 6x life sentences of the leader of the Gangster Disciples, most notorious drug trafficking & murderous street gang in the US.

Now Honduran drug trafficker Hernandez.

Is #Trump setting up his own drug corridor?

Sadly, those weak-kneed media outlets will probably respond by trying even harder to walk on eggshells over Trump instead of standing up for themselves and reporting truth to power.
