"Alcohol made me do it."

Alcohol doesn't make you do anything you don't want to do.

What were they "delusional" about?

If you don't make it clear you will be better than the fascist, that's a you problem.

Didn't get to see it when it aired, but found it for rent in a video store somwtime in the mid-1980s.

Absolutely charming.

Always wondered why the bad guys kept that fish around, though.

Maybe they planned to eat him?

So should Democrats make any effort to win over voters?
December 19, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Fine. Be angry and bitter at them all you want.

How do we win without their vote?

OR

How do we get their votes?

NAFTA hasn't reduced poverty in Mexico.

Economic growth in Mexico has been slow for decades
December 19, 2025 at 6:35 PM
I don't believe either of those things.

Bill Clinton slammed the border shut and lwt anti-Mexican sentimwnt grow when the negative effects of NAFTA hit the American workers.

Where is all this food being exported to?

Can those places meet their own agricultural needs?

I'm not a fan of American AG and think it needs more scrutiny & tighter regulation, but we need to be careful with how we go about it.

Real free trade is fine, but very rare.

ESPECIALLY when America is involved.

I mean it gave companies more power over labor.
December 19, 2025 at 6:25 PM
I meant it's terrible for Mexicans.

It hurts American farm laborers as well by keeping wages suppressed, but it hurts Mexicans way worse.

It's just oversll not good.
December 19, 2025 at 6:24 PM
The American and Mexican agricultural systems are terrible for Americans.

America uses slightly higher wages (with no benefits) to rob Mexico of laborers.

Rather than require farmers pay higher wages to keep laborers in Mexico, the Mexican government takes more of migrants' money.
