Don Was too. I love Nile Rodgers but I always felt that the Cosmic Thing sounded too clean. Also TSR sounded a bit dialed down to me. These obviously weren’t problems in the real world. Still, the further I get from the 80s, the more I can deal with the clean and this thread is making me re-evaluate

I wish I lived in the world where one’s opinion of The Stone Roses carried so much weight. For the singles, I Wanna Be Adored, I Am The Resurrection, and Made of Stone are perfect shimmery wrathful anthems. I hate Roam, but it might be due to its use in ads. I think production hampers both albums.
