Playwright of LIES, GRAND UNION and WHO'S YEHOODI?, O'Neill semifinalist (TWICE!), 2019 Writer's Digest Grand Prize winner, Arsenal supporter, resister when it matters, man about town. Ex-X, but ain't we all?
It’s not free. High plans are $1000 a month for a family. But yeah.

These are not the kumbaya left-wing Jewish socialists of the '40s and 50s come to "make the desert bloom." These are Sephardim from the Middle East and North Africa whose families were killed or exiled by their Arab neighbors, and now they're out for revenge, not justice. It's not the county I knew.

I was there last year. It’s on the way to Belfast from Dublin.

True. But what if you want to pick up your friend from the airport? You'd need a street car and a highway car. Totally impractical for American needs.

I've seen them in Europe. They have lawn mower engines. Little more than big golf carts. Try merging onto I-95 in one of them. Comes with a special pocket for your will.

Exactly! Do police departments lose money? Fire departments?

And it’s not far from where I live, the Kennedy Center in downtown DC. But that place has become so identified with the Orange Mussolini—his huge photo in the Hall of States is the site of many middle fingered selfies—and he thinks he’s making the draw himself, that I won’t watch.

I'm a playwright and a novelist. My Google searches would land me in Alcatraz.

This sure caught the chicks at Studio 54 in the old days, gramps.

I used it to write a one-sentence marketing line for a play of mine. It wasn't half bad, but it needed work. I don't consider that creative writing, more like business. But using it in the creative process--no way.

But you need people to check the AI output (which is often wrong) and to input the correct search in the first place. I was in govt public affairs, and I asked ChatGPT as a lark to write a news release for the start of hurricane season. It was good, but it needed much more before it was ready.

All health insurance is subsidized, usually by your employer (who also gets tax deductions for the premiums).

I got my SS at 62. Reduced rate but it all works out.
November 26, 2025 at 2:21 PM
Nope. Pension is 1% of salary per year of service. Vesting is 5 years. She’ll get $8700 a year when she turns 62. Health insurance can be as high as $1000 a month for a family plan. She has access to the TSP, a govt 401k. And social security.

I don’t do Christmas but I have a special warm place in my heart for this cartoon, especially the KFWB sign off. So evocative.

Congressional healthcare isn't free. They're under the FEHBP, just like other Fed employees, and can choose from a number of plans. My last plan was the high version of Blue Cross, and for myself and my wife it was $800 a month.

More than almost any other, the liberal Jewish community in New York and across the country (Reform, unaffiliated and most Conservative) are extremely vocal about Islamophobia, because they know that when Muslims are attacked, we're next. I can't speak for the Orthodox though.
