Nationwide, more than seven million people participated in the #NoKings protests yesterday. That includes several thousand in #Evanston, according to event organizers who say yesterday’s turnout was higher than the first “No Kings” protest in June.

Indivisible Evanston is hosting a "No Kings" protest tomorrow morning. This is the second round of "No Kings" protests against the actions of the Trump Administration. 2,500+ protests are planned for tomorrow, hundreds more than the first "No Kings" protests in June.

- Open seat for Governor, after Tony Evers declines to run for reelection

Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI) talked about his decision not to run for reelection in 2026. He was elected in 2018 and 2022. Evers is eligible to run for a third term but chose not to. Today, Evers said that if he had run for reelection, he was confident that he would have won.

Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI) spent part of Wednesday afternoon in Rhinelander. He visited Briq's, an ice cream spot, as part of a three day tour around the state. Evers spoke with local leaders about education, medical care and access to broadband.

Some of the worst air quality in the U.S. is in Wisconsin. Most folks in the Northwoods and north-central Wisconsin are in the red level, which means the air is unhealthy.

On Gunlock Lake in Vilas County, about 100 people celebrated the Independence Day weekend by singing patriotic songs.

“I get to sing 'God Bless America,'” Delma Erikson said. “We are just so humbled to enjoy our country in this way.”
