Over a year ago I went on a journey to play through every mainline Final Fantasy game, both to replay the ones I've played (X and up) and to experience the ones I haven't for the first time.
Earlier this year I finished OG VII for the first time and decided to play Rebirth before VIII.

On this day in 1999, 26 years ago, Pokémon Gold & Silver were first released.
These games started the second generation and had you travel through Johto to defeat Gyms and defeat Team Rocket before heading back to Kanto!

Game of the Year is stacked this year. Definitely a few games that didn't get nominated that could have. Can't complain about the 6 we got, but I'd be shocked of Expedition 33 didn't get the win.

Man... now that time has passed and we got two new logos to compare to... I've really turned on Toronto's logo and name. Sceptres just doesn't do it for me...

It's weird that you can be both unsurprised and surprised by something at the same time. Initial reaction was of course disappointment, but honestly don't mind the extended chance to tackle my backlog of games.

The pacing and bloat of Rebirth absolutely killed my interest in this "Remake". They can do whatever they want with Part 3. I hope the people that play it get something worth their time and money.
Final Fantasy VII Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi has clarified that while he recently assured fans that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 would "strike a balance" when it came to pacing and be "more concise," that didn't mean he would change anything about Rebirth's pacing.
