I was, as the robin came by the gate, on a call to London. A friend was asking about a review and would I be reading the book. And I said I didn’t think so, preferring Clemence Dane, Katherine Mansfield, Evelyn Scott, Waldo Frank, Kenneth Burke, and Dorothy Richardson.

What you can’t know unless I say is that I was here today, the Richmond May Fair, on the green, for Antony Horton’s Stud of Jumping Horse. Sun shone, and brightly. There was a stand grilling German sausages. You could order one on a roll with onions.
