Social services attorney on the Jersey side of the Philly suburbs; law, history, gardening 😶‍🌫️ and trading cards. MLB: Tigers/Phillies; NFL: Giants; NBA: 90s. @jpesq_ and @esqgranny on that other site and I'm too tired to maintain two accounts anymore.
The Medicaid rate is lower, but the private pay rate at a lot of these places exceeds $500/day, and that's for a shared room.

That they couldn't turn a profit with that kind of cash flow is insane.

I'll add that my wife and I went to the Sunday Night Baseball game in Philadelphia vs. the Tigers, and she had NO IDEA what was coming when Duran came out for the save.

Suffice it to say, she's looking forward to spending some more time at Citizen's Bank Park next season 😀

A lot of people seem to assume that paying extra for bar service means that money goes to the bartender.

Aside from their (usually minimum) hourly wage, they don't.

And if you don't tip them, they're going to make your drinks as terribly as they can.

But if you tip them, they'll take care of you.

My wife, the bar manager and lead mixologist for a wedding venue, does something similar whenever we're at an event, and she for sure appreciates it when she's behind the bar 🥂

I've heard people argue "well maybe it wasnt against the rules, but it was still illegal!"

As if not a single other Hall of Famer never broke a law.

Big Mac and Sammy also need to be in imo

You wanna make an example of them? Put it on their plaque that their steroid use, while not against baseball's rules at the time, was either proven or suspected. Or give them an asterisk, I dont care

This might be the historian in me coming out, but thr Hall of Fame is a museum, and I think it should tell the complete history of baseball.

You can't tell the history of baseball without the steroid era. It's what saved baseball after the 1994 strike.

Put them all in.

Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and pin this until I find the Mother's Day pink variation of this card. Couldn't hurt 🤷‍♂️

I think Max Anderson, Thayron Liranzo, Josue Briceno, Max Clark, and Kevin McGonigle could definitely see some MLB action by the end of season.

I should probably move that Troy Melton auto over to the Tigers shelf now, but I like how it looks where it is 😁
