At this point, the meeting is mostly councilors going around, praising each other's resolves and accomplishments. That includes Councilor LaBarge, who can be seen here behind this small mountain of flowers and plaques

The councilor has also just posted the following statement
December 19, 2025 at 1:25 AM
Council business underway. During recess, Rothenberg kindly referred me to her attny over the lawsuit that's been filed. She's expanded on it now, describing how it was filed to dispute what she considers an unfounded public corruption charge made during an election year.

As @reminderpublishing.bsky.social recounts here, Rothenberg called up a non-emergency dispatch line over icy conditions in her ward & after that, made a # of claims & statements the council later deemed inappropriate. Notably, censuring doesn't carry a steep penalty

Me and MacDougall both saw someone with PACER access post about this. At the heart of the suit is the censuring of Rothenberg back in March. The Ward 3 councilor ended up being censured over a call to DPW that involved... a host of things!

I myself received a friend request from her on Facebook months ago and have received a steady stream of likes and comments from her

80% of this public comment section is praise for LaBarge, who has served 26 years in the council. She lost her bid for re-election to Chris Stratton, but is being praised at length for her community volunteering, fighting for new streetlights and signage and unbridled enthusiasm

Folks, apologies - it was 8-5 in favor of Whitfield. Santaniello's audio came in rough for me (he voted for Tracye) but I should've figured this out sooner since there were 13 voting members.

Whitfield wins it! I believe the total was 7-5

Prez noms up now: Walsh nominates Whitfield, Govan 2nds! Councilor Davila then nominates Councilor Melvin Edwards. Seconded by Councilor Maria Perez.

Since this is informal and is made official with the new council after its sworn in next month, Martin and Hurst are seated. Delgado gets unanimous approval!

We're back! Councilors will now nominate prez and vp candidates, following by the informal caucus vote. Councilor Walshe starts by nominating Councilor at Large Delgado, citing his resume, voter trust (he was the top vote-getter) this past November. Councilor Edwards 2nds

Never mind, we're taking a recess. Also, Hurst is here!
