I am not a lawyer and do not know enough to dig into potential legal challenges to this, but I fucking hope that some exist. "You charged me $6 and the guy two streets over $5 for the exact same product" sure sounds like the beginning of a class action suit; I hope they get destroyed.

This is great. I think the whole idea of accommodation should rightly be an invitation to reject an ableist, eugenicist approach to the world and instead ask "What if we want to give *everyone* the chance to do their best?"

What a garbage framing. A credible interpreter of public health information knows that ALL medical interventions—life-saving surgeries, miracle drugs—produce some possibility of harm. All the *actual analyses* I've read (including this example) show that COVID is far more harmful than the vaccines.

I would argue that a couple of those are a lot trickier to modulate and/or opt out of than LLMS are, but I absolutely take your meaning.

I do understand that in your position. (And still find the fact that it's acceptable as a proposed answer to so many things to be...pretty gross. I wonder about the potential impact of less institutional credulity, or of more people in positions similar—not identical—to yours saying Nope.)

And, like, I make wretched cost-benefit decisions all the time, too! I'm using the aforementioned web-only *Google*! The whole situation just infuriates me and is putting my entire sector out of work, and it's a real mess to wrap my head around it.

...I guess I get that and still don't think the overall negative impacts of millions of people making that use case decision are worth it. Not even talking environment: social effects, informational effects, patterns. Not tryna pick on you, Waldo (plus, you can handle doubters), I'm just ¯\_(¨)_/¯.
