I was also homeschooled K-12 by extremely religious parents. I had to take a lot of remedial classes to get up to college level.

Yeah, they haven't been on Apple keyboards in a while. There was a system setting in Sonoma that allows you to remap the modifier keys to other keys. That showed all the different symbols, but it was recently removed.

Ahhh I gotcha. I've definitely been there. The Building a Second Brain course was a game changer for me. Now I don't ever overthink my organization.

Have you tried Drafts for quick capture (getdrafts.com)? I use it as my first stop for all idea/task capture because Obsidian is too slow for fleeting thoughts. Later they get processed and sent to either Obisidian, calendar, email, etc.
