Season 3 is a much harder sell in that case. It is extremely strange in a variety of unique ways.

I think it's brilliant, but it is not for everybody (putting it mildly)

Skip to season 3, it's incredible if you are a David Lynch fan

When I was working on Wormsign I was concerned about the sandworm models clipping, and was dreading having to make the AI move away from the player (while still being close enough to be balletic).

Turns out, players didn't actually care about the occasional clip and it saved me extra work!

Good to know I'm not the only one that finds it surprisingly challenging!

I hadn't considered it, but that's a good idea! None of my characters are villainous, so I think it could fit in well.

Didn't expect to be working on eyeball shaders this week, but one of the joys of indie dev is getting pulled down these unexpected rabbit holes.

Thanks so much!

I considered releasing the source, but the code is a bit prototype-y and likely needs a cleanup pass before it would be useful to others. Since you're interested, give me some time and I'd be happy to get back to you 🙂

There's also some really good resources at play.date/dev/links/
Develop for Playdate
It’s yellow. It fits in your pocket. There’s a crank. It comes with 24 free games to get you started. Say hi to Playdate from Panic.

This project was intended as a simple way for me to get familiar with the Playdate SDK (which was genuinely very fun to work with).

I figured I would share it here in case any other Playdate-users enjoy starting their day with a quote 🙂

Again, the biggest lesson I've learned so far from solo indie dev is to do the simplest thing first, and if that works move on.

If there are music notes coming up soon, then the AI aligns itself with the closest note. If the player gets too close, the AI instead lines up with the next-closest note.

I haven't played any of them. Looks like Crimes and Punishment is on sale for $3 so that's an easy pickup :)

I picked up The Case of the Golden Idol in the Steam sale and I've been having a blast with it.

Open to other suggestions for deduction games (I've already played and loved Return of the Obra Dinn, but otherwise I haven't played a lot of them.)
