I’m a man (he/him), happily married to my amazing wife with two beautiful boys, but I am “out” as a Dad with PRIDE 🏳️‍🌈

One of my boys loves green and legos, the other purple and dresses. Both love to have their nails painted and both love the Sonic movies. Both fill me with pride.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what Martin Luther King Jr. would say today.

I think he’d be disappointed, but not surprised.

I don’t know what he’d say, but I imagine he’d remind us to keep going. To keep dreaming.

The other night, while driving my son home from dance class, he told me he wished he wasn’t the only boy in his class.

I felt so deeply for him in that moment. I did my best to validate his feelings (I’ve wished the same for him) and lift his spirits.

Families with two dads get a special kind of hate online.

Also, does anyone need to be nurtured more than straight men? The same men who think nurturing is weakness, as comedian Akeem Woods points out, seem to need nurturing more than anyone.

Check out our full conversation on link below. 👇🏻

It doesn’t take mental gymnastics to draw a direct line from Christians who believe in an authoritarian God that demands obedience—or you’ll be punished—to an authoritarian political ideology that does the same.

The root problem isn’t policy; it’s a religious dogma built on control.

The number of times Black people and POC must be polite to racist, hateful bigots—people who put their families at risk—then smile like nothing happened is something white people truly don’t understand.

Yes, women face this too, but it’s different for POC, especially Black people.

I’ve lost 500 followers on Threads the last 2 days.

I’m not sure if that’s because I’ve been railing against Suck’s, I mean Zuck’s, recent post and people don’t like me doing that… or if that many people are actually leaving Threads?

Either way, I already enjoying this community here on Bluesky!

How many of you on here have left Threads in the last couple days?

I personally joined just this week with Zuck’s announcement. It also seems like a lot of people have already left Threads.

Comedian Akeem Woods shares some of the challenges of coming out 🏳️‍🌈 even if you’re in an environment that seems supportive.

For those of you who have come out to family and friends, what were some of the things that kept you from feeling like you could, and what helped you feel ready to come out?

World governments need to take the threat Musk and Zuck pose to democracy seriously.

Here’s 3 steps they should take to protect their citizens:

🔴 Pass disinformation laws to hold social media companies accountable (sanctions?)
🔴 Ban X
🔴 Freeze Musk and Zuck’s financial assets if they don’t comply

If we protect disinformation, hate speech, & division under the banner of “free speech,” we’re weaponizing free speech against the truth. At that point, “free speech” becomes a tool of oppression.🧵1/8

Fact-checking is not censorship.

Disinformation aims to drown out truth, making it harder for people to hear real facts. Allowing it to spread unchecked doesn’t protect free speech—it undermines it. While it may not block the truth entirely, it makes it harder to find.
