Lansdale's horror books are worth a read as well, but be prepared for some seriously twisted imagery. Especially after reading some of his more period-piece fiction books, jumping into a book like "The Drive-In" will make you wonder what kind of fucked-up shit he has lurking in his psyche. 😱

@joerlansdale.bsky.social is amazing to dive into. The Hap and Leonard series (in order as much as possible) are a must. Also highly recommend "The Thicket" (which Peter Dinklage optioned as a movie that is now on Tubi at tubitv.com/movies/10001...). "The Bottoms" is also high on the list.

This was the only choice that conflicted me. Nanos' behavior and his patterns of abuse of power should not be acceptable in someone who is tasked with enforcing the law (i.e., a cop should not be a bully). Then again, I can't in good faith vote for anyone who chooses to align with the "R" party.
