"New" character Lucy, she is an angel. Don't have her colors established yet, but I think she'll have a generally yellow color palette. (Don't laugh at my scrungly anatomy. Shoo. She's hard to draw. Especially her face and neck. Actually if anyone has tips on how to draw that part better, I'd like to hear it.) Alternative image of the art I made on the blackboard that day. To her left, I wrote the lyrics to the final chorus in Something Heavy by Jacob Collier: "And in my mind, I throw your arms around me; I find a way to bring you back to life; and all this time, I never let you love me, but I know; I know it's time to let you go now..." To her right, I write the Bible verse excerpt used in Sungazer's song Cytherean: "unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again."

Technically vent art. A rendered ... creature with black liquid drifting out of its eyesockets. It states, "How do you do." Surrounding it are math notes lol. Alternative picture of the Shadow chalkboard doodle from the other post. Above Shad is a boom symbol and the word "bitch" underlined. To the left are squiggles other people drew; one of a cat's face, and two smileys, one much larger than the other. In between the cat and Shad is a very crude attempt at the sparkling heart emoji. Don't know when it was erased exactly. Worm creature with the word "kiss" as its face, blushing. Professor was talking about tips for writing good essays; he wrote the acronym kiss (Keep It Simple, Stupid) on the board and circled it. I noticed that the circle broke, and it sorta looked like a chin line. So I filled in the gaps. (Also another crude attempt at a sparkling heart emoji.) Professor spared him. Creature from earlier today. Rendered, lazy-eyed thing with incredibly irregular lips. Intended to be sort of moody, like the other rendered creature. Not really vent art this time though.

Shadow is looking down into the white void and smiling. Her hands lie between her thighs as she sits on an unfinished chair. 1st time using iBIS Paint X. Didn't know how to select stuff yet. Her neck is very, very long lol. Her face and body came out pretty nice though. I still don't really know how to use this program; learning as I go. A second concept art for Shadow's phase 3 wings. I will most likely keep the color palette used in my earlier work and apply it to these. Vaguely based on moth wings (didn't use reference; not very original, @irko knows a thing or two about the thangs.) They'll be functional now ... Shadow walking forward in felicity. Visibly noted is my frustration with her left leg and the draft number (2). I still don't know what I'm doing. I plan on finishing this one. Working at it slowly as to not kill my desire to draw again. Quick chalkboard drawing I did after the professor left the classroom. Text reads "JF was here" as Shadow stares at the viewer. Broad, confidently imperfect lines are employed here. I like it.

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑
Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them. Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!” Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.” Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face.
