There’s nothing our Founders wanted more than to give a single man unreviewable power to raise import taxes on his subjects, especially if he doesn’t like a commercial.

This would cost over $600 billion. For perspective, we spent $7 trillion in fiscal year 2025 and had $5.2 trillion in revenue for a $1.8 trillion deficit.

Trump started a riot in DC, bombs boats on the regular, occupies cities with the military in peace time (which we literally complained about in the Declaration of Independence) and will make us the first country to test nukes since 1998 other than North Korea, but sure he’s Mr. Peace.
