My friend Awdah Hathaleen was murdered today by an Israeli settler, in his village, the Palestinian Bedouin community of Umm al Khair. I am heartbroken. Rest in power, Awdah.

Someone I often think about is Enas al-Sawaf. I worked in the same school as Enas in 2010 in Homs for the short period I lived in Syria.
Enas was killed by a regime sniper in her car on 4 November 2011 in Baba Amr, Homs,aged 49.
