This is an incredibly powerful article by Peter Ettedgui. I hope people listen to him and to the others who are brave enough to come forward.

I wrote here about the BBC resignations, Farage’s schoolboy racism and the Government’s disgraceful asylum reforms, and why it is deemed legitimate to bring up Jewish experience and antisemitism in some of these cases but not others. www.toratalbion.org.uk/when-is-it-a...

If you are outraged at people protesting outside a synagogue maybe you should also be outraged at external political organisations hosting their events there and creating the conditions for said protest.
November 24, 2025 at 3:18 PM
The JC report does as predicted, ignoring the Jewishness of the protestors and omitting the reason for the protest. It also, celebrates the vigilantism of the counter-protestors, saying that they blocked the tube exit to stop people joining the protest. JDL 2.0 www.thejc.com/news/uk/we-h...

In case it makes news: there was a World Zionist Org aliyah fair at a London synagogue today and Jewish pro-Palestine groups protested against it. Various right wing or pro-Israel groups are pretending they were just protesting a synagogue for the sake of it and that the protestors were not Jews.

This is a horrendous story that I’d never heard of before. Unless they are in physical danger or suffering abuse I don’t think the state should be taking away children from their parents in any circumstances, let alone due to some dubious parenting test www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

@jprdata.bsky.social suggests that the 18% of British Jews that support the Green Party do so in spite of its positions on Palestine. I'd say that many support it because of them. After all, JPR recently found that 23% of British Jews identify as non- or anti-Zionist. www.jpr.org.uk/reports/end-...

I fully agree Old Jezza’s failure to clock the very dodgy mural reflected badly on him. I do however contrast the reaction to this against e.g. Sir Keir cribbing from Enoch Powell, the billowing sixty foot union flag crackdowns and Suella Braverman summoning fash football thugs to attack protestors.

Has the Board of Deputies, which issues statements on absolutely everything, made a statement on the government's new immigration policy, one which has been welcomed by the far right and and has explicit echoes of Nazism?

This might be optimistic but Starmer and McSweeney won’t be in office much longer, and a very easy way for the new leader to signal change would be to abolish these asylum reforms.
