This is far from the biggest issue with this season, and it was nice hearing Johnathon Colton again after so long, but how could they be at "the height of their powers" if there's an exp system?

I both empathize and feel the same way. On one hand, I know you're way worse off than I am right now, and I wish I could do more to help besides Patreon money. On the other hand, I've written 12 novels and 5 screenplays! I'm in my mid-forties! I don't want to shout into the void anymore!

Though, for the record, of all that, maybe half of the novels and screenplays are ones I'd be willing to show anyone not in my immediate family. The early stuff before I found my voice was rough. I also have a bunch of video game design documents from when I wanted to get into that more.
