Yeaaaaah, I'm glad the car isn't in danger and all that. But it don't feel good! I feel like I got scammed by Ed Edd and Eddy, but each Ed has never met the other and none of them eat jawbreakers

My only solace is that they didn't actually find anything wrong with the car. But I'm still out a couple hundred dollars for someone's whoopsie.

I get people make mistakes, but I wish I knew more about cars to have double checked myself.

If anyone wants to buy the rights to this story, I'm willing to sell it for a diagnostic, 2 lyft rides, and a doordash meal. Just to recoup my costs.

This felt like an episode of Seinfeld, where 100% of this was avoidable xD

So yeah. This is a happy ending I guess but it didn't feel like it. If the mechanics had called me sooner, I wouldn't have had to rush. If the first mechanic was more knowledgeable I wouldn't have had this dread or sudden expenses dumped on me.

I'm glad my car is okay, but. Yeah.

We arrive at the Mechanic about 5 minutes before they close, I pay them for the diagnostic and they ask me why I seem so frazzled.

So while I'm glad my car doesn't need 3K worth of repairs, I lost days of work, paid for unneeded rides and services, and all that worry was for nothing I guess (8/9)

Except, I'm now in the only ride I've ever seen that goes slower than the speed limit.I kept looking at the speed, we're doing 40 in a 65. I can feel my life drain away as cars are driving recklessly, forcing us to go even slower.

If I don't arrive by 5, I'll have to rent a car until Monday (7/X)

So I call them again, they tell me I can come get the car, but I better get their quick or else I have to wait til Monday. I cancel a meeting to hire a Lyft to take me there on the quick fast.

My Lyft arrives late, and I'm sweating as I watch the time tick by. They arrive and we go go go! (6/X)

The mechanic says he'll call me when the test is done.

Around 2:30, I call them to see how it's going, & yeah, no sign of anything wrong with the car. They'll write me an estimate on other things to fix, but they'll call me back.

At 3:55, I look at their hours, they close at 5, and work M-F (5/X)

I leave the car there & take a Lyft home just in time to teach an online class. I wait by my phone all day for news, with only D&D to comfort me. At 4, mechanic calls and says they can't find any sign of a blown head gasket or oil and coolant mixes. They say they'll do a pressure test on FRI (4/X)

I finally reach one that can help me! They say to bring it by early Thursday & they'll take a look at it. I go to sleep, knowing I have to drive a car that could die on the road.

I make the trip up to this mechanic, my eyes glued to my temp gauge, for fear of the car overheating, but I arrive!(3/X)

So all day Tuesday I'm worrying that my car is going to die after only a year of having it. I look up the price, a new head gasket is anywhere from 1500-3000 smackers, which is a bunch.

I miss work on Wednesday, because car might blow up, and I'm calling mechanics to help, but receive none (2/X)
