A huge aspect I love about Volume 6 is Qrow's integration into the group. It would have been so easy to have him become the de facto acting leader, but instead he becomes more of a guiding presence once he's sobered up.

Not the case. The first three episodes of Ice Queendom cover the entirety of Volume 1. The rest of the series is its own story that takes place between the first and second volume. The end of the series briefly references the beginning of Volume 2.
