Doesn’t it matter what the Dems might do to improve their chances? Seems like the swing could be much, much higher if the dems actually offered a compelling, substantive alternative to abandoning democracy . . . I take this on in my own latest post:

the other interesting thing about reading your work over time is you can see ideas emerge. like, i wrote this in 2024 but you can see the idea percolating early on in my tenure at the times. it just took a few years for me to be able to actually articulate it.

perhaps there are things going on in the structure of american politics that cannot be solved by a level of internal party discipline that lenin couldn't achieve?
