Been a while! Becoming a commercial archaeologist has tired me out over the last few months but finally finished ‘The Dispossessed’. What a book! A really fascinating exploration of how an anarchist society could work that is definitely the best Le Guin I’ve read to date

Making the most of the weather to get a head start on one of two paper options existing in the virtual (in the Deleuzian sense obvs…) for a conference later this year. Only one will be differenciated so watch this space… #DeleuzeandGuattari #beer

Started Yuri Herrera’s ‘Signs preceding the end of the world’ this morning because it’s under 100 pages. Despite that it’s an epic poem in beautiful prose about a journey over the Mexican border into a strange, hostile, Other-like USA. I’ll definitely be seeking out more Herrera in the future.

I was also reading ‘Before the coffee gets cold’ to offset the intensity and horrors of 5th millennium AD Kent. Interesting premise and quite moving at times

And as for his destabilising of Standard English… I’ll let Russell himself explain…

Got majorly back into Mark Fisher so ‘Orlando’ got put on hold (sorry Virginia!). I’ve started a book I got recommended last year, ‘Riddley Walker’, instead and I’m already obsessed. The playing around with language, the way the post-nuclear apocalypse society interprets the past…incredible

The Nine Ladies were also fantastic. Felt like briefly stepping into a different world

I think Arbor Low might be my new favourite henge. Could’ve spent all day there, chilling with the recumbent stones
