Looks like Pallid. Presumably part of the small influx a week or so ago

Very nicely done 👌 The last one in Cambs was in 2022

Got to be a chance of one there, surely only a matter of time. They certainly seem to be spreading now that we rarely have much severe cold in winter

Have you seen one in your local 10km before Prof?

Spotted Flycatcher and Osprey are quite tricky as they very rare at the park and usually only in autumn passage time.

GC Grebe and Kingfisher should be doable throughout the year. Scan the lake from the jetty for the Grebe and Kingfishers often pass low over water here too - listen for their calls

Hi! That's great that he has started birdwatching, are there any particular birds you both want to see? Morning or evening is when the birds are most active but if you sit somewhere overlooking Dickerson's Pit you should see a good variety of species.

Yes I'm the same, it makes for a more interesting photo. Love the colours in this one

Really nice pic!

It's the same in Cambridgeshire, with regular escapes, often unringed, from a notorious collection. Records of Ferruginous Duck in particular are now almost impossible to assess

Yes one was reported to me in April from MW. I think it was only heard on one day and not seen
