It was the matinee. I've got tickets for 4 upcoming theatre productions in London, but seriously wondering whether I'll bother again after that. Two aborted trips in 12 months due to transport issues is not a good strike rate!

Nothing moving, trains decanted. Now sitting on a stationary train waiting to go home, once services eventually resume.

I'd already used the letter that I'm guessing tripped you up on your 4th go, otherwise I'd have gone down that route too!

But given Australia's record in day-night Tests (won 13 out of 14), whatever they do the chances of things going pear-shaped are immense. It just makes what happened in the 1st Test seem so wrong-headed and negligent.

No, I don't think they'll change - I think they'll bunker down, which seems to be their usual response to criticism. I guess their argument is that net practice under lights on a fast bouncy wicket is better than an actual game on a slow pitch facing the likes of Peter Siddle. 1/2

Oh, not really. If I'd kept to my original thinking I might have got it in 3, but then again I might not. I always think of 4 as par, so it's OK. Well done to you, though!
