Agree. I think “Tomato Red” is one of the great short novels.

Sad to hear that. Can’t think of many better short novels than “Tomato Red.” Then there was that Bourdain episode where Woodrell breaks his leg during the shoot. Felt sorry for both of them.

I’ve read the first two and at the risk of sounding sacrilegious, I thought the small changes they made to plot and characters made the shows better. Also interesting how Standish in the books is a lot more dynamic.
