This article gives too much credit to republicans for healthcare. But this comment was ever so interesting in the article, “The notion that the Heritage Foundation would propose a “government takeover” of anything is absurd on its face.”

Republicans would rather let food rot in farmers fields that buy it at a fair prize and feed our neediest , here, in the wealthiest country on earth.

Did you know that as of the latest 2021 numbers, vegetables were on average 9 times more expensive than starchy food staples, while the same number of calories could be bought in ultra-processed foods 2.7-2.8 times the cost.

Don’t judge by appearances. It’s an ugly trait.

The protests put immense pressure on policymakers and demonstrated that the government could not continue the war without significant domestic opposition. They ultimately influenced the U.S. withdrawal strategy and shaped future U.S. foreign policy toward military intervention. /6

The first Moratorium was held on Oct. 15, 1969. Hundreds of thousands of Americans, and by some estimates up to 2 million, participated in peaceful demonstrations, rallies and “teach-ins” nationwide. Vice President Spiro Agnew called the organizers “communist dupes.” /3

The main event was preceded by the “March Against Death,” which began on Nov. 13, 1969, and continued through the next day. More than 40,000 protesters walked silently past the White House, each bearing a placard with the name of a dead American soldier or destroyed Vietnamese village. /2
