Since a lot of people have joined Bluesky recently, I should show the art I make in my free time.

I also spend a lot of time fiddling with computer systems and sometimes a bit of game dev

I only just learnt about the whole Clawdbot > Moltbot > OpenClaw thing today, along with the fact that there's a "social network" for these bots called Moltbook www.astralcodexten.com/p/best-of-mo...
Yes people can game it by just asking the agent to post, but no way is all of it manual

This is some incredible design wank, we had to spend sooo long designing a hinge, so please buy our metal box with a hinge for $78USD.
(obv. they didn't spend 4 actual years) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Avey...
We spent 4 years designing the perfect lid.

Finally a more elevated discussion of AI that doesn't immediately devolve into "hah, look at this ML algo from the 2010s failing at [random task]" buff.ly/ULAqndD

Learning more KQL lately, and it's way more powerful than I thought it would be.
It does get a bit messy when you make complex queries, but I'm not going to be using it super often

Ran a random compression site on a bitmap the other day, what it did was actually convert the file to jfif internally but kept the bmp extension, absolutely hilarious

I really should have watched gameplay of Arknights: Endfield because only just now have I learnt that it has basebuilding!
I am expecting a bunch of gacha shit, but I can easily put up with that

RAM prices are high because the lesson businesses learnt from covid isn't that global JIT is bad, but that demand is actually super high, and you should just let people gamble on the price of everything

I've not done Wordle in ages, but pretty happy with this

Some Ratchet and Clank references in It Takes Two are pretty in your face. One section looked like the great clock in Crack in Time and had abandoned spherical worlds, you do eventually get to a real one!
The moon baboon fight is full of innuendos, way more than other sections

Finally got the 2B art on my Neodox board! The original art is by vovovov buff.ly/XEBdLyI
I converted it to black and white and added back details, took hours because I haven't done pixel art in ages, making something distinct for 128x32 is a good challenge though #splitkeyboard
January 24, 2026 at 8:07 AM
Going to call my new keyboard 2B, because it's a white PCB with black keycaps, it's my 2nd split keyboard, and it's obviously made of 2 Boards.
Came up with this after the 2B OLED art I've been editing, so maybe this was all my subconscious

The type of Twitter guy who's like "I made [shit app] at [awful company], and at [devil incarnate] I made [torment nexus]. In my spare time I make [another JS framework]. I believe [pseudoscience] and think I'm real manly" has been back for a few years now.

This is like the opening cutscene for the worst RTS of 2004, but is also just some dude's 3DS Max portfolio lmao buff.ly/GwcBCfx

Does anyone know of a hex array to image converter that doesn't break for no reason?
I want add some art to my keyboard's oleds, but some of the previewers fail to display default logos, so I don't trust them.

I don't know what Microsoft has done, but for some reason troubleshooters now launch something that looks like an AI agent that attempts to do things, but mostly fails

Used some HDD rubber rings as spacers, and I'm just one switch short! Now to print more keycaps, then later this evening I can start using it
January 20, 2026 at 8:14 AM
My NeoDox finally arrived. It's got a stupid thick acrylic case, but nothing holds the PCB to the top acrylic, so pressing the encoder pushes it off the switches.
The acrylic has bits of dirt floating in it and a packing sticker that doesn't come off easily.
How do you make this and not see issues?

Flow tap and chordal hold fix the main problems I had with home row modifiers (see the image)
Now I can both type with longer presses and roll my typing on one hand, and not have a series of random shit happen because I accidentally hit win + d or something buff.ly/WTLbnPN

If I stopped resisting and followed the instructions I would've fixed the firmware on my split keyboard.
But holy shit, I don't want some random 5GB dev environment, just to compile C to a bios file, and then a 2GB repo with 18,000 folders of other people's configs on my PC!

Love to have pseudo-profound quotes on my keycaps

Youtube has this ugly animation when you switch between the normal player and theatre mode. It expands and fades one video layer, to reveal a second video layer, while sliding the right hand column down.

It looks like someone ported a janky app switching animation

Went to the airport Woolworths because I was procrastinating on my grocery shopping
- It was way quieter than expected
- More stock in general!
- I still hate driving the Great Eastern Highway. It's a massive slog of traffic lights and too many lanes!

Did a big clean to catch up on what I'd been putting off, and also got rid of material I'd been holding onto, but not actually using.
So my place looks a bit better now, but there's still cardboard I need to recycle or make useful in some way

Land of Um, a game I remember playing too much of in primary school, is on Archive.org
Got it easily running with Winevdm, so I might stream it later.
Greygum Software also made Math Circus, which way more people might know of
