Thank you. I did not know it. I am temperamentally adverse to utilitarianism, which often maps on to a political disposition that I strongly oppose, so it's a troubling concept.

I thought it was a very lucid review. My interest in these movements relates primarily to their co-development with statistical/probabilistic ideas first and then computational ones. Moral ambiguity and statistical inference, type of thing. The construction of the genius-as-utilitarian.

I'm reading this with the aid of a great philosopher who created pandoc.

I fear such a request would be labeled impertinent by the authorities here, though I have certainly felt the urge.

The wikipedia entry suggested the latter, but I distrust it. A deep dive correlating the edit date with certain "ideal events" in the sense of the Novalis epigraph to Poe's best Dupin story is both warranted and necessary.

Now I'm going to solve the Flint Hill series. I love seeing a sine in the denominator of a morning.

Sometimes people have the wrong idea about that part of Florida. Considerable natural beauty. A gigantic prairie with bison not too far from there. Coldwater blue springs out the wazoo, in a manner of speaking.

There was a good restaurant there when I was in grad school, would have guessed its population was higher, but that "goes to show" (?)

I was nodding along until I got to "NJ isn't Arizona or Texas."

Never heard it. I assume it doesn't refer to being stuck between large trucks in a small car, like the Geo. I assume it's not a game reference, like "bullet hell" (if that is the term). An obsolete measurement? Geoh-ell, with "geoh" deriving from OE for "long" or "wide?" It'll never be solved.

It's a great read, somewhat hate to say.
