TV, politics, cats. Not always in that order.
Good Morning Britain also goes to 14 breaks in two and a quarter hours (though most very short). Today they would be allowed to go to four 3.5 min breaks in that period. Roughly the same amount of ads but the number of junctions is insane

This feels a bit like one of those 1936 television service listings where they’d not only try and do too much but the language is curiously old fashioned too

Well WE were, can’t say the same for another broadcaster with three letters in their name…

There’s a nice little montage of previous logos on the website

It’s amazing what turns up just by sticking your neck out and asking the question…

Haha very kind of you

Amazing research!

Good question. Just noticed the “slogan” logo is the wrong colour on the top half too

Great upload! I see even the end credits compilation was shorter than usual 😀

I think - as there were months of the presenter clearly rarely being in the same recording session as the act - they were trying to make it look more joined up. But superimposing them over a crane shot doesn’t make sense and the execution is *awful* - Kate had green hair most of last night

My parents used it for years into Dad’s stroke. They did not get a “free car”, and there were some stringent hoops when they wanted to put me on the insurance after said stroke (ie that it was only to drive Mum around)

On a similar note when Emma Chambers died they showed the Dibley ep where Alice married Hugo…an obvious choice but the only one where there isn’t an Alice joke at the end, which is the bit everyone remembers…

I’ve not checked but is it also “fits nicely in a half hour slot”?

It’s there now but with none of the reading links, so just a giant PDF of the paper

They’re cheap/free so I’m sure they are quite happy to not use that argument

Yes I like to play the game spotting how much of it was actually written on Saturday. It’s not a lot. Sport is particularly bad - not that it bothers me too much but it should be a key part of the Sunday package…

I’m on a Saturday print sub, which for a long time allowed me full access to the Editions app when that wasn’t part of the deal. They then emailed last month saying Editions (and the main app, and Feast) was now included!

I wondered when this would start falling over.
I read in Private Eye they are about to start separating out the subscription operations. Place bets now as to whether anyone paying for 7 days gets any kind of reduction when the Obs finally goes…

Indeed - and Laurence was very generous in contributing him memories from that role to my history of that final series! He sees it very much as part of his development as an actor.
