Born in Leeds, living in Lincolnshire.
40 years fiddling bits, wrangling data mainly financial.
Retired from the grind, so now it's garden & gears from here on in.

In the end #lufc just went to sleep - and Arsenal's squad just had a bit more depth & inventiveness. Paul Merson made the difference with an early opener and Lee Dixon's second just before HT took it away from us. Chappy's 2nd half strike gave us some traditional Leeds false hope but that was that.

Players, fans, managers, programme printers all exhausted by this point.

Desperately disappointed to not get ticket 0001. Should have joined the queue earlier.

There is just absolutely no evidence to support the idea that something happens to our brains after the age of 16 to make us magically equipped to deal with this stuff. And quite a lot of evidence that as we grow older we will all hit a wall that makes us *less* well-able to deal with it.

Yeah. The lack of squad depth & limited (compared to now) subs just left the core group absolutely knackered by it all. 50+ games for a lot of them.

...but it was goalless again, thanks to a couple of decent saves each from John Lukic and David Seaman, and a Lee Dixon penalty that went so high over the bar that I found it in my back garden in N14 when I got home. Back to Elland Road for a 4th go. #lufc

Highlights from the previous two #lufc Arsenal cup ties feature, along with David O'Leary saying that maybe pens after the 2 replays should be the max.

In the middle of a cold snap, George Graham explains that his team had the weekend off because the Highbury toilets had frozen up. Soon-to-be #lufc star Tony Dorigo appears on the programme cover.

Yup. Spurs away. Goalless so you were forced to tell us about "Paul's coughing colon" in the crammed car to fill the space.

No David Batty due to a suspension. Lee Chapman with his head patched with brown paper and sellotape the only forward option. So on balance not a bad result for #lufc

Only 2500 #lufc fans there to see Mel Sterland hand the opener on a plate to Lee Sharpe before Chris Whyte equalised from a Gary Mac free kick. Sadly we didn't hang on with Brian McClair giving them a 2-1 advantage for the second leg.
