A squeaky reader in the mouse house. Novacastrian Australian. Currently owned by two cavoodles, one old, one young. My home is in Barahineban of the Pambalong Awabakal people.
Raiders of the Lost Ark. At least that was a film my parents might have taken me to see.

Thank you. The possibility of being stuck there on Christmas Day is dismaying her. I hope the day for you & your partner is everything you want it to be.

I made the mistake of listening to a recent Juliana Hatfield song about the loss of her dog. Perpetual Motion Pomeranian is making me feel much better. Also, glad that your partner is recovering. My mother has just gone into hospital, & we don’t know when she’ll be let out.

At least she’s on a ward now, so that’s something. And we were discussing Christmas food, given the possibility that I might be the only dinner-eater at home that day.

I’d probably find something similar if I looked into it. As Mum said, we really need to know who’s managing the property. If we knew, we could contact them directly, particularly if it’s an estate agent. But I didn’t see the neighbours this morning to ask.

Can’t help thinking the actual owners don’t want to spend the money on the half-share of the fencing costs they’d have to pay. end)

It looked like someone had tried to screw the panel back in with nice, shiny new screws. But the Colourbond is more than 30 years old, and had to start rusting out sometime. The whole back fence needs to be replaced, really, but the people who live behind don’t own the house. 2)

She’s not sure what’s happening: she hasn’t been admitted yet, and no one has indicated anything to her either. We’ll see what happens.

She’s been using one of the older button at the bottom of the screen iPhones for some years now, so who can blame her for not instantly grasping a phone you have to swipe upwards to unlock, etc.

I hope so too. But until I hear otherwise, she’s in another hospital further away from me, & more difficult to get to by public transport under heatwave conditions. That’s going to be challenging.

Thank you. There’s still so much to arrange, & so little time to do it. The temptation is to ignore it, but I have a niece & 2 nephews to whom that would not be fair.

I’m sorry that happened to your dad, and it does seem to be happening to Mum to a certain extent. She’s 80 in March. I want her to get there.
December 19, 2025 at 9:11 AM
Thank you. Think Mum needs them too.
December 19, 2025 at 9:04 AM
So does she. She doesn’t want to be in hospital over Christmas again if she can help it, although she won’t be in lockdown this time if she’s stuck.

Humans. Plural. Argh.

Ah yeah. The Christmas tree is up, but undecorated, the food is not yet ordered, the presents for the human are here but not yet wrapped, & we’re waiting for an ambulance to take Mum to hospital again. There’s the Christmas anxiety in the Macmouse house this year.

Just don’t let any Australians call it Tiddalik, after the giant drought-causing frog of Indigenous legend.

Just what we wanted to hear. Zale, wherever appropriate for them to appear, is most welcome in our sight.
