He understands on some level what information about him will come out sooner or later, but is resisting checking himself into a ward to hide - for now.
I’ve had the misfortune to meet lies and delusions, stress reactions and cognitive decline, and I suspect a soup of many ingredients here.

It’s not funny in the least, obviously. But the funny thing about that post is that it screams persecution mania and delusions of grandeur. The writer’s, not the subject’s.

I’m going to be honest + say idgaf about either variety of po-faced hypocrisy. They are not going to stand in the way of my Yuletide festivity with either racism or trad misogynistic ‘moralism’. And now I am off out for Nepalese curry & some wassailing, they can stick that in their respective pipes…

Also been my lived experience. 21 was the age the worst crime was committed against me. Not by a gang or migrants or a strange man on the street but a ‘normal’ guy who was my supervisor in a time-filling job.

Yes. You can tell youth is vulnerability quite easily. Look at PTSD age-gender profiles from the Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey and you can see all the trauma from vawg right there.

The proponents of abusive practice are not well-adjusted people. That part doesn’t surprise me. It is how so many people fell for it that I will never understand. Just **obvious** snake oil.

An unbalanced set of priorities led us to pursue outcomes that a large proportion of children were unable to achieve, no matter the effort or pressure. There will always be a distribution of attainment. And if you don’t acknowledge this then a proportion of leaders will end up abusing children.

I’m not going to focus on the school leaders other than to note that too much competition led us to appoint people to a position of responsibility they were not psychologically fit to hold. Because it is the national system of school accountability that should be scrutinised, now.

What those parents haven’t understood is that having self-esteem that’s dependent on ‘performing’ for powerful adults is deeply unhealthy, and no amount of A*s will help them when they meet a situation in which they cannot win, and believe it makes them worthless as humans.

But seriously, this is not just under-30s. I'm *48*, real wages have been largely stagnant my whole working life (I entered the labour market a few years late thanks to doing a PhD so missed most of the end of the long boom)...
