Had my mom in town for the last 3 days. Really nice visit, got to hear about how she and her friends chained themselves to the gates of the governors mansion in Florida back in the day to protest the death penalty. She’s always been cool as fuck.

Next mini project! I found sharky and his ruffians in my old middle earth miniatures box and stripped the awful paint off them. I think they’ll make awesome bandits and a great wizard for dnd.

Playing dnd with my kid! For a first game ever he did great listening. We struggled a little with not grabbing all the things but a spooky skeleton was vanquished and he had a blast. Tomorrow he’s gonna go look for a haunted house in the dark Forrest.

Man, mothership is just one of those games that gets me all excited to make stuff for it. I kinda want to put together a D100 list of weapons grade wholesome/cute encounters on prospero’s dream to juxtapose against all the fucked up shit I’m about to put my players through.

First session of a new mothership campaign set on prosperos dream went well tonight. A murderous android, memory erasing employee orientation pods and the abandoned offices of their former employers who went out of business while they were in cryosleep without issuing final paychecks.

I have never played in a classic dungeon crawling campaign. I’ve run large dungeons in the past but I have never done a proper megadungeon game and I feel like it’s a huge blind spot in my ttrpg repertoire.

Got to play a game of infinity yesterday, and was reminded why it’s my absolute favorite tabletop wargame. Ended up barely scraping out a win despite losing most of my troops due to a couple clutch plays in the late game.

I think jumpstart is the best format for magic the gathering. No deck building barrier to entry, relatively even power levels, super casual games. you can get a good sized playable collection of decks going for like $100. My wife and I have been playing the avatar set this way and it’s a blast

I kinda dislike the idea of collector boosters in magic but I do like that it means the scalpers basically ignore normal magic cards now so if you actually want to play the game you can. Trying to find Pokémon cards for my wife’s stocking this Christmas SUCKS though.
