We are mostly still talking utility scale, but distributed in the geographical sense rather than grid sense, yes.

Speaking of geothermal (though this is a geo network and not direct deep geothermal heat).
First utility-owned geothermal network to double in size with DOE…
The $8.6 million grant for Eversource’s pioneering project in Framingham, Massachusetts, is a rare win for renewable energy under the Trump administration.

I think MAHA is unscientific, misguided, largely wrong, and will get many children killed

I also think that Zeldin at the EPA is a disaster (e.g. loosening soot regulations that will also get people killes).

I have heard about this, and I share the same reservations! I would think nuclear heat would only pencil as a byproduct of electricity production, unless they figured out something as simple as "we can get usable low temp heat from natural uranium in a mildly fancy box"

I have wondered about sewage, and, uh, why is it warm? Is it the industrial wastewater? Biological activity? Or is it not really that warm, just warmer than the ambient air?

And I think concentrating solar has pretty definitively lost to PV unless you count very simple things like south-facing windows.

Heat needs could also conceivably be served by nuclear, but I think this is much less likely to pan out, especially at lower temps.

That's a new one. Though it is true that medical advice to avoid peanuts made the problem a lot worse for a while and it is now improving.

I found both extremely compelling, despite the deep problems with both protagonists

I believe that's an externality
