I bet that's more common amongst politicians now than people know,.

The slow-motion coup goes on and on.

Yes I know. It's not ideal. But I'm saying that the Dems care about their constituents. The GOP only cares about billionaires, and their own investments. The Dems were under tremendous pressure and will live to fight another day.

It wasn't all Democrats. 8 of them. Their constituents were howling at them. This game of poker was making children go to sleep without their dinner; was crippling air travel.

I think I could point out the moral complexity, but it's not the main theme. Why shouldn't we sympathize with the monster? What horror to be resurrected in such a way.

Well....He explored the tragedy, rather than vilifying him. After all, in the frame story of the movie he's totally accepted culpability and expresses profound regret. We are all prone to living life as the person were made by life, after all. Some can transcend that, but it's difficult.

Seems plausible.

I meant to see that, by god. Going to see if I can watch that tonight,.

True, I meant as it stands as a design. But look, it's from the Trump administration so it's there for the wrong reasons. It's toxic. It's a waste of money at a time when we should be helping the American people directly, instead of building this vanity project.

The Democratic party, and its representation in congress and the senate, are not a monolith. Most of the party did not agree with the rather weak "compromise". Those who "defected" were under tremendous pressure from their constituents. And they *are* supposed to represent their constituents.

No they're not the same people. I could point out dozens and dozens of sharp policy differences.

Yes I agree.

YES! I think Brett is the best Holmes on any sort of screen, and the adaptations felt the realest to me.

Was unaware of this!

I wrote a novel about Doyle in the afterlife, still in print as an ebook (the paperback sold its printing out but they didn't reprint because they were trying to launch their ebook line).

It assumes one *can* murder a soul in the afterlife and he solves a crime there.

I myself don't think he made Victor a villain. He made Victor more tragic, instead, is what I think.

It's as close as you could get in a movie I think and still make something that would work for most audiences. A miniseries could be more faithful.
