Music and the natural world. That's about it.
Treaty One - .8954° north of the 49th; 2.8615° east of the 100th.
Sidewalk plows must have fun with this (when it eventually snows).

Looks like we're going to get winter temps without the winter snows (Missed us by THAT much. Unless we get some lake effect snows...didn't want to go south of 49 anyhow.)

The gladey bunch. Hard to see but there's a bunch of deer resting in the grasses as a bunch of geese come down the hill to join them.

Last day of nice weather. Looks like winter temps start Tuesday. Meanwhile we're into the season of the long shadow serenade (Seine River version).
"Beside this sleepy glade
There I will sing to you
My long shadow serenade"
apologies to Neil D.

(Although I don't love it that it's happening at 4pm) I love the way the treetops catch the fading light of golden hour. Factor in the honking geese overhead and you got yerself a Bob & Doug moment. Time to grab a stubby!

Got this Italian menu translated for a bit of clarity. I'm really interested in the "pizza by the shovel"...

A little frosty this morning when it broke.

Well they're heading south, & they got the "V" formation right. So they might as well stay...just a little bit longer. I bet promoters don't mind And the roadies don't mind If we take a little time And we leave this all behind...
& hope Maurice Williams don't mind what JB did to his song (ma).

Frau Farbissina: Lies. All lies!...Bet Grok would've got it right cuz it "maximally benefits all of humanity by pursuing truth and increasing understanding and knowledge".

Finishing up some raking & cleaning the eaves. Ready to settle into this evening's Grey Cup match. Not bad weather for this time of year...and remembering the cold af game in 1991. Top row, north end zone w/51,984 other crazies (& John Candy).
"That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight"

Waiting for freeze-up and that first covering of snow. This year's transition to winter is slow and gradual vs what Tina Turner said: "we never ever do nuthin' nice and easy".

I mean I "grew up" in Montréal but ma was born in Saskatchewan so not sure who I'm cheering for at this point. Don't let my well-worn cap fool you...

"It sounds like buckshit...but you ever notice...
This whole town of ice and snow..o.. woah
Gets you running
Chasing something
What it is I'll never know
Just hope one day that it shows

Any day now it will come"
(apologies to The Watchmen)

Still a bit of ice on the Seine after that cold snap. Saw this guy still hanging around...at least he was swimming south but he's got a little further to go.

Neil with his dog named Winnipeg. Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere.
One of my first concerts was Neil Young w/the Stray Gators at The Forum. The set list incl Cinnamon Girl from this classic album & my friend yelled out the dog's name several times. Strange memories - je me souviens

Something new has been added to the mix...AI-splaining (or getting lectured by a "large language model").

This young guy just paraded by. He's so proud.

I'm always bit late to the party as the colours are a bit washed out...but them northern lights are beautiful tonight. Even from my living room window in the middle of Winnipeg.

Thanks for this. They did a concert in 1970 with a few other well known bands...the consensus was that they absolutely stole the show.

Crew of Lancaster named "P for Peg" shortly before they became "lost without trace". Aged 19 to early 20s they hailed from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Northhamptonshire. The family discovered details of their fate this year.

Everyone's talking about caving, so here's my photo from the caves at Keshcorran.

Just got a heavy box delivered...hope they didn't drop it or anything.

The Maple Lodge team ties it up.

And apparently the Westjet team has scored on a penalty kick after this slide.
