Random #Ashes thought. It's 86-87 since England's men won an Ashes series without Ian Bell. Is there any way a place can be found for him now?

I know Brexit has cost us loads, but Simon Harmer could've been playing for England now, and that is the biggest loss

Any England cricket fans at a loose end in Perth on Monday? My team, The Forty Club, are on tour and are playing at Scarborough Cricket Club.

Could Aussie followers please amplify? Thanks

Remember, women's former international cricketers, please don't make any "at least they'll have more time for golf" comments. Only men can do that.

You wouldn't want to upset Rory Burns. Again.

Pope looks desperate to get into lunch first.

A sentence which makes no sense to non-cricket people

Not sure I've looked forward to day 2 of an overseas Ashes as much as this for years

So far, so Trent Bridge 2013. Underwhelming England first innings, storm back to reduce Australia to 120-9. In walks a debutant at #11. Will Doggett channel his inner Agar?

Two years ago to the day (not the date) that I hit my first international six. At Galle.

I'd retired from playing 6 months earlier due to ill health, recovered, and was making the most of my retirement by playing in Sri Lanka

The pandemic had steadily worn down England's Test players. The 2021-22 Ashes broke them.

Tours to Australia are never easy, but Covid restrictions made England's last time down under that much harder: bit.ly/47Mtnz7

I watched this about 3 weeks ago, and for some reason, it was in my head today when I woke up
This archival footage reveals some interesting aspects:

First, just how many musicians it took to create the sound of the 70s. (Hint: a LOT)

Next, how timeless the cinematography was. Hardly needs a 4k retouch.

But...!

Great investigation of the Nazis, racists and criminals mobilising the flag-on-lamp-posts movement. This is the kind of journalism that the national media could and should have conducted:
