Couldn't help but post this clip of the final pitch in Game 7 Toronto Blue jays versus the Seattle Mariners from Monday evening. The Jays are going to the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers! It's a David versus Goliath scenario but look how that turned out.

You'll think I'm a violent guy - I am not - but you can blame it on Donald Trump. Here's the Washington Capitol's Tom Wilson (a Canadian player) connecting to the head of the Ottawa Senator's Brady Tkachuk (an American player) in a recent fight. Washington, Ottawa . . . this is irony at its best.

I'm posting this more for me to be able to live in the moment again, just to relive the feeling of seeing that magnificent nation-lifting goal.

Tremendous feelings of emotion to have seen Team Canada defeat Team USA in last night's 4 Nations championship game! It was, as Wellington once said, "a close run thing". The teams were very evenly matched; Canada was just that little bit better.

Münster-Süd training area, West Germany, spring 1986. I am in the middle, and this is my FOO (Fwd Obsn Offr) party. About an hour after this photo was taken we won the OP trophy, consisting of a tactical piece and a quick-action live shoot. Eight FOOs in the Regt, and we were the untrained junior.

This will mean nothing to anyone who sees this, but this photo is C Bty, First Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (1 RCHA), taken in June 1985 in Lahr (then) West Germany. I am first row, 6th from the right. We had just won the annual Elkins trophy for best battery in the Regiment.

Seen today in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Note it's a Tesla.

This was going around on Facebook. It was - apparently - from one of our Prime Ministers (Sir Wilfrid Laurier) in 1907. I believe it speaks volumes.

Re: Robin Olds, this is as good a summary as there is. I highly recommend his memoires "Fighter Pilot: The Memoirs of Legendary Ace Robin Olds", published by, I believe, his daughter after his death in 2007.

I have a few heroes. The number isn't great. Some are unknown to most but me. Others are well known. None are sports figures. This man, General Robin Olds, is one I'll admit. And he's American! Why not? He stands for all that was (is?) good and right with the USA. Plus, he had a great moustache!

Folks, I note many of you follow me back, and thanks. Please note, though, that I don't post much at all. I do comment on some of your posts now and then if there's something I feel I should speak up about. And I "like" just about every cat video!

Finally been through those I followed on Twitter, to see if I could find them here on Bluesky. I've found 25%, a little disappointing. In other words, I have to maintain my Twitter account. Maybe Bluesky will catch on, although I detect a polarization among users with Twitter.

I only followed about 370 profiles on X. In trying to find those 370 here on Bluesky, I've found maybe 20%. I'm sure we have to give it time. I feel it unlikely that I will ever see my veteran "friends" here, which is a pity. Their hearts are in the right place but their politics are not.

In my first full day here on Bluesky, trying to find former contacts off X, I believe many of those I followed keenly may never arrive here like me. My vet friends (US) seem to be MAGA and won't migrate to this site, and the people with blue check marks will stay on X to get their money's worth.

I will search for those I follow(ed) on Twitter and add you as contacts if that's all right.
