I've been on two cross-country marches for two existential crises:
The Great Peace March (1986)
The March for Climate Action (2014)
@ L.A. to Wash. D.C., 3,000+ miles, 8 months.
I've never been so scared for humanity & planet as I am now
Pinned
🧵 The Great March for Climate Action (2014), Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., 3000+ miles, 8 months of walking, and 24-7 #ClimateAction.
🧵 contents: articles, videos, and personal recollections from that experience.
I hope it helps others to take inspired action.
Sorry this is from the Xitter site, but Blue Sky wasn't around in 2014. (edit)
I was interviewed by President Obama's people. They misspelled my name but, that was me.

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

I think it's time for a lawsuit our children do not deserve this to happen to their beloved TV show.

Since we can’t ever expect Mike Johnson to do the right thing, we’re forcing a vote on extending ACA tax credits. And we only need four more members to sign the petition to make it happen.

The US government is summarily executing people on a weekly basis without telling the American people any of their names or presenting any proof of their guilt, for alleged crimes that do not carry the death penalty in the US.

Today is World Soil Day!

Soil is the foundation of our food and ecosystems, but it's under threat from, you guessed it, factory farming.

We need to invest in regenerative farming that nourishes the land and feeds people sustainably, and scrap industrial agriculture for good.🌱

Maybe instead of committing atrocities, we could just make the rich pay their fair share and have universal healthcare and affordable housing instead.

Idk, just spitballing here.

Wealth inequality is eating this country alive. Concentrated wealth is already endangering our democracy. Wealth doesn’t just beget more wealth — it begets more power.

It’s a vicious cycle that destroys our economy and democracy at the same time.

"There does seem to be very much a parallel between a hurricane coming to town and CBP agents coming to town."

Trump's occupation of New Orleans is destroying the city, with immigration agents harassing locals, intimidating tourists, and shuttering small businesses.

You know, apropos of nothing in particular, and although I haven't researched it yet, I strongly suspect that a president starting a foreign war to distract from his extensive ties with child sex traffickers is probably a high crime or misdemeanor under the Constitution's impeachment clauses.
