"You can't polish a turnip..."
I'm sure that this is the reasoning which I haven't yet formulated.

"I went to Kwik-fit and asked for some Mullokin tyres for the Allegro. They just laughed at me."

Oh, well played, sir.

Ooooh! A new series.
This will be Succession with a dash of Game Of Thrones and some Dougal & The Blue Cat, shot thru' with some Monty Python, maybe The Holy Grail, all with added Deep State.

Yes. No-one needs rules & regs right up until one does need them.

That's a convenient blind-spot where farridge & co. can capitalize and where the reform-supporting critical-thinkers can just go after the opposition while ignoring the the un-seemly reform initiatives & the incompetence in those councils which should be seen as a dress-rehearsal for possible govt.
December 2, 2025 at 8:00 AM
Exactly!
This is their new narrative these days, isn't it?

(Adopts whiny voice while trying to sound informed) "But nigel* wasn't involved in the actual brexit. He wasn't in power...", etc.

In the end, we all got the only bwexit available.
Remember all that parliamentary skirmishing of late 2018?

Over 70% of all printed news media by volume of sales is right wing.
December 1, 2025 at 8:01 PM
Yes, of course. Just being the poster-boy for bwexit wasn't any reason, nor were his empty promises of better trade & prosperity outside EU and control over immigration.
All he has to do is describe what is the right kind of bwexit. But no other version was on offer.
December 1, 2025 at 7:58 PM
Yes, there is that.
But I was riffing on Mark & Lard's irreverence which Macca didn't appear to mind.
November 30, 2025 at 12:10 PM
...or did I imagine that?
November 30, 2025 at 10:24 AM
Pete McCarthy was what Radio 1's Mark & Lard irreverently called Sir Paul McCartney who seemed quite entertained by that.

Paul Macca appeared on their afternoon show & elected to stay all show rather than the more-likely 5-10 minute slot - which came as welcome surprise to Mark & Lard.

Or...

The new narrative is that farridge, u.k.i.p, the bwexit party, etc aren't responsible for bwexit or how it was carried-out.
November 30, 2025 at 9:52 AM
I'd only start with mild put-downs only after the personal insults started but I'll re-assert my valid points.
Often, bwexitists can't sustain their points or provide supporting evidence.
November 30, 2025 at 9:51 AM
Exactly.
I learnt early on to not play the man, not insult & belittle in my opening exchanges.
I'd just point out facts, evidence-based reality & the failed false promises.
That way, the waverers on the sidelines can see reasoned debate vs insults & attacks.
November 30, 2025 at 9:50 AM
Wasn't "Mull of Kintyre" by Pete McCarthy?
November 30, 2025 at 9:33 AM
I'm going to stick it out.
I'm pretty sure that I can't be turned.

If that fails, will you all come & rescue me?
November 28, 2025 at 2:37 PM
Sedition, eh, trump-y? That's almost a best mate of insurrection, isn't it? It shouldn't be allowed.

Kemi deffo is showing-off that she's really good at critical thinking.
