Success! Made it with 15 minutes to spare until the judging deadline closed.

Of course, instantly humbled by everyone else's amazing projects. The Macross theme category was absolutely stacked and I am forever envious of the clean work others pull off.

Y'see, now a real Macross pilot would've immediately asked about those little buttons sticking out from the bottom of that cassette. Well...IYKYK

Not done. Not even close to done. But, we're a lot closer.

Reasons for all-nighters:

School ❌
Work ❌
Model Building ✅
(and let's be real: procrastination ✅+)

This is just a *little* behind where I wanted to be with this build.l at this point...*checks watch*...less than 24 hours to go until the competition.

Might be cooked on this one...

Time for me to be aggrieved by the most trivial of things, but I cannot stand the new icon updates for Office. The satin-y pastel veneer slapped over featureless blobs. The increasing likelihood they were mined from prompt generators. The assumption their ubiquity transcends the need for good design

Louder for the folks in the back: Block and move on.

A little less than a month out from the annual model building contest. This year the theme is Macross, so I'm building a YF-19 from Macross Plus (Dyson's plane).

I just finished the hardest part of the build: Painting the tiny pilot no one will ever see.

Only because I haven't seen it mentioned yet. Why did I finish this game? Those reasons are lost to the annals of time. Alas.

Now I am much more conditioned to just stop playing games I don't enjoy.

A li'l sambal, a li'l hoisin and you've got yourself a stew going. It came out mad decent.

I don't care that it was 75 degrees outside today, we're manifesting soup season, dammit.

Pho ga (chicken pho) because the whole family has been a little under the weather.

Idk what's going on with the current AI discourse (I don't know and I don't care to find out) so I'm just gonna tap the sign again:

My kiddos birthday was this past weekend and her big gift was a record player (she requested it; she may be a bit of a weirdo) but the knock-on effect is now I can FINALLY listen to these videos game soundtrack vinyls I've been carrying around for 10+ years, lol

My new fun hobby is finding some ugly-ass shoes in the sale bin and turning them into my convention sneakers.

"Yeah, gimme them camo trainers with a side of cookie monster pelt. Cheers, thanks bruv."

I think they were $25.

Another day, another mobile update to Outlook that can go jump off a cliff.

I love how it always elicits the media illiterate crowd. "I used to love RATM back in the day, before they got political"

Wanted elote for lunch, so we got some. Came with a few decent sides: smoked brisket, pulled pork sandwich, burnt ends baked beans and banana pudding:

Man, this used to be a lot easier to believe...

(I slept for maybe 45 minutes; today is going to be an interesting one. Also, it is a *weird* thing to wake up to "Row row, fight da power")

Picked up the Zeon Gundam Assemble set out of curiosity this weekend. Models are hella easy to both build and paint. I love it.

Finished this frame up today...tung oil, glass and hardware, and even hand gilded the bevel of the picture mat. Not counting my labor costs, it was ~$25 including the print.

Tomorrow we find out what kind of sense of humor the office HR department has...

Finished building this last night at the same time I finished up watching Gundam GQuuuuuuX. What a build! What a show! (Now to figure out how to paint this...)
