U say u “don’t accept everything any govt tells u is the truth” but u believe that Trump is waging a war on drug cartels when he has just pardoned the former president of Honduras who was found guilty of drug trafficking by an American jury & sentenced by an American judge to 45 yrs in prison.

10/ And of the many reasons for concern regardless of whether u r a Republican or Democrat is that this administration is effectively asserting a license for Trump to kill outside the law anyone he labels “terrorist”. A term he has also applied to his domestic opponents.

9/ The way in which Venezuelans & other Hispanics have been deported from the US over the past few months seems to indicate that the main rationale for the talk about alien enemies & terrorist designations is to aid in the goal of mass deportations not fighting terrorism.

8/ It has not been fueled by cocaine from boats from South America. And this brings us to what is likely to be real motive. Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal cover to invoke the Alien Enemies Act.

7/ None of the Trump’s administration explanations make any sense. Even if you believe that the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans from overdoses somehow amounts to an armed attack, the surge of overdoses r mostly caused by fentanyl that comes from labs in Mexico.

6/ responses to their violence. Incorrectly classifying drug cartels as terrorist organizations shifts U.S. foreign policy and resources toward counterterrorism efforts and away from decreasing the power and violence exercised by organized crime and drug cartels in many parts of Latin America.

5/ They do not aim to take political power in the U.S. or elsewhere, or try to remake society in their own image. This isn’t a question of semantics. Properly distinguishing between terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations is crucial for devising effective policies and

4/ Al-Qaeda & ISIS seek political, religious or ideological change, as they try to violence to reshape the political landscape of their regions. These groups do not have political or ideological motives beyond creating conditions to maximize their own profits.

3/ They do not have a political ideology and therefore are not an actual terrorist organization. While transnational criminal organizations and foreign terrorist organizations both engage in violence, their end goals are very different.
December 7, 2025 at 11:41 PM
2/ That places them firmly in the transnational organized crime category rather than a political terrorist group. Terrorism is violence, usually against civilians, motivated by political and ideological beliefs and goals. Drug cartels do not fit this definition.
December 7, 2025 at 11:39 PM
1/ Your mistake is in accepting everything the Trump administration is telling you as truth and not questioning their motives. First of all, drug cartels r profit driven groups, not ideological ones like Al-Qaeda.

These aren’t Communists who wanted to redistribute wealth and “accidentally” voted for the far-right. They voted based on their values and their values are authoritarian.

Pete Hegseth was right. Ordering US military forces to kill civilians is the best way to ensure that any captured US servicemen will be treated in a humane manner.

South Africans, Canadians and Americans should stay out of EU affairs. It’s a matter of sovereignty. I’m sure you understand.

Stephen Miller is right. Just ask any Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, German or Dutch person in the world. The first thing that comes to their mind when they hear of America is “unlimited welfare for life”.

Yes. Imagine if this were Hunter Biden. That’s all you need to know about how badly this is being mishandled right now.

5/ Similarly, the US military is not allowed to target civilians. Even being a suspected criminal doesn’t make someone lose their civilian status. In peacetime, targeting civilians is murder. In an armed conflict, targeting civilians is a war crime. This isn’t complicated.

4/ arrest people. US police officers who believe people are dealing drugs arrest them & if they r convicted in a trial, serve time in prison. They aren’t simply executed. It would be a crime if police officers simply gunned down suspected drug-dealers.
December 7, 2025 at 1:54 AM
3/ And classified information is not an excuse for dubious & legally flimsy attempts by Trump to justify using wartime authority against a criminal problem. An unarmed speedboat is not a warship. The US has for decades handled maritime-drug smuggling by using the Coast Guard to intercept boats &
