I positioned myself to make this image until the buffalo walked into the position I wanted. I had a chance of having the "thought bubble" appear to convey that the buffalo was saying "Cheers with Nutyumz!". Sometimes, you can anticipate when something might bring the elements of the scene together.

In photography, you can visually alter the "perception" of anything in a composition just by choosing a position to make a photograph from. These two school girls are now approaching 30 years old, but when this image was made 22 years ago, they were small. The image is from a very low position.

The second image in the series from 2004 of ladies with attitude. Expressions captured by the subjects, unbeknownst, allowing them to be photographed candidly, naturally, unconcerned. People are their true self when a camera is not obviously present, and that can make for engaging photographs.

Also from 2004, I captured some side-eye. Her expression, popping over her seat-mate's head, has stuck in my memory all these years.
I've always liked the soft focus, dingy light, and metal bar across the window. They give reason to why her attractive face wears an expression that's almost menacing.

When I first started to travel outside of the US 30 years ago, EVERYTHING was different from what I was used to. My head was on a constant swivel, as sights, scents, sounds were bombarding me from every direction.
This 2004 image from India is a great example of all the senses triggering my work.

I have been reviewing my past work. In 2026, I am going to post some to share.

I'll start with an image I didn't make. This is why most of us love photography. Emotions. Photography is all about emotion. Capturing it, projecting it, invoking it. Feeling heartache, anger, amazement, from imagery.

2/2 At least add some wording, prefacing that it is just smoke, a whisp of vapor. Nothing tangible. There's no department. There's no structure. There're no proposals. It's not LEGAL. No office. No administration. Just the richest numbskull in the world, and a team of inexperienced suck-ups.

1/2 Everyone, from individuals to all of the media, let's start here. Stop referring to "it" as DOGE. Don't use the word/acronym, because it does not even EXIST! You give it validity when you do that. We refer to KNOWN criminals and their KNOWN criminal acts as alleged.

"This isn’t a ‘trade war’ with Canada, or Mexico, or China — this is about fentanyl," said Interior Secretary Douglas Burgum on Fox News. "We’ve had a mass invasion of our country."

43 pounds of fentanyl was sized at Canada border in 2024.

Can you see the lie by yourself, or do you need a picture?
February 3, 2025 at 5:37 PM
CNN announces Mexico "consented" to put troops on their northern border to stem the flow of fentanyl and migrants, but OMIT that Trump agreed to take measures to keep automatic weapons FROM AMERICA from crossing the border into Mexico. Another crappy job of reporting, CNN.

3/3 They see him as someone unhinged, uncaring about Americans other than the rich, uneducated. It seems they have a sharper lens and more cogent mind from a distance, than Americans who decided to back this "organic mistake" of a President.
