John Warner
@johncrwarner.bsky.social
Retired teacher of mathematics and English.

I live in Bielefeld Germany and am the full time carer of my disabled partner.
This face looks more like a Soviet era portrait and it made me think of "Animal Farm"

"No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which."

My mother found in her nineties holding a book tiring so we (my sister and I) bought her audiobooks on CD so she could play them.

She didn't finish Middlemarch by George Eliot before she died sadly but she was a good way through it.

Not sure if mine has been counted as I ordered it through a German bookseller.

Isn't the legal speed limit the EU limit of 25 kmph converted into mph for the British?

When it came out I was in college and four of us went to the local flea pit that didn't chuck you out and watched that film four times in a row and laughed at different jokes each time.

Is it a measure of future inflation from 47's tariff policies?

Interesting that the line "reward for failure" is in both papers - who is feeding the talking points to them?

Well they will not be quoted widely if they are behind a pay wall so that is good.

As a retired teacher of mathematics - my career was as a STEM communicator and mild comedian LOL.

Not tried being an author except my reading diary and little or no experience as a businessperson.

Doesn't it go well with their 1938 choice of "Man of the Year"?

I own, read and enjoy books.
Is that unusual?

I remember going into Virgin Records in 1984 and finding two Minor Threat records and buying them and playing them to death.

I later listened to Fugazi and stayed at the Dischord House.

I remember in 1981 going into the record shop to collect the first EP of Blitz entitled "All Out Attack" and there was a huge queue for the Soft Cell single "Tainted Love" - as everyone used the record shop then.

I was giving a lift to work colleague in the early 90s and he asked what music I listened to and I had a mixed tape of Ministry and Big Black and I described it as "my dance music" - he was shocked LOL but to me this is very danceable.
